Constantia is Cape Town’s most exclusive suburb, set up high near Table Mountains with views over the city. With its leafy streets, and acclaimed vineyards, it’s a tranquil place to stay and in an ideal location to explore the city only 20 minutes drive from the city bowl.
The Constantia Uitisag Hotel is within the rolling hills and vineyards of a private wine estate, Constructed in 1894, the homestead is made up of a number of separate buildings, scattered around the manicured grounds, in the traditional Cape Dutch style. There is a strong emphasis on good food, to go with the Constantia Uitsig wines and guests have a choice of three top restaurants. Children will love the natural, open spaces with a swimming pool, cricket pavilion, horse paddocks and vineyards to explore. Babysitting facilities are available and the restaurants will do their utmost to cater to a family’s needs.
From the hotel we suggest the Hop On, Hop Off bus trip for the easiest way to see all the sites around the city such as Table Mountains, the Botanical Gardens and even a trip into one of the Townships (not nearly as daunting as it sounds) without having to consider driving and parking in the city. Further afield it’s well worth getting out to Seal Island from Hout Bay, and no trip to Cape Town would be complete without seeing the Penguins at Boulders Bay.
We can include a stay at the Constantia Uitisag Hotel as part of A Family Trip along the Garden Route, or we incorporate it into a tailor made itinerary. Just for you. Please call on 0207 359 3938 or email us and we’ll be delighted to help.
