Borneo Family Adventure
Visit the historical city of Kuching, learn about the Iban tribe in Sarawak, snorkel or dive with turtles and spot orang utans in the wild on a river cruise or jungle trek.
Day 1 Fly from Heathrow overnight to Kuching via Kuala Lumpur.
Days 2 - 3 Arrive in Kuching and spend 2 days exploring this fascinating city
Days 4 - 5 Travel to Batang Ai for a 2 night stay in a longhouse with plenty of time to spend trekking, fishing and learning about the Iban tribe
Day 6 Transfer back to Kuching for overnight stay
Day 7 Fly to Sandakan via Kota Kinabalu, arriving in time to witness the feeding at the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary. Visit the informative Rainforest Discovery Centre with its abundance of plants and excellent elevated walkways above the forest canopy.
Days 8 - 10 Take a speed boat to Lankayan Island for 3 days of relaxing by the beach, snorkelling or diving. This is a great place to see turtles, sharks and a huge variety of fish.
Days 11 - 12 Return to Sandakan and take a boat down the Kinabatangan River, looking out for proboscis monkeys and pygmy elephants en route. Spend 2 nights in a simple riverside lodge and spend your time exploring this wildlife-packed area.
Days 13 - 14 Travel further into the interior of Sabah to Danum Valley for a 2 night stay at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Spend your time here trekking in the forest, wildlife spotting and admiring the forest canopy from elevated walkways.
Days 15 - 17 Fly to Kota Kinabalu and transfer to the Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort for a few days of well earned rest by the beach before heading home.
Day 18 Your day will be at leisure until your evening departure via Kuala Lumpur back to the UK, arriving home the next morning.
