Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, Borneo
The Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge is situated in the lower Kinabatangan River region. Reachable only by boat, this lodge is set away from the world, surrounded by lush jungle greenery. Pygmy elephants, a number of species of monkeys including proboscis monkeys, and Orangutans have all been spotted in the vicinity and there are plenty of opportunities to go out on treks and guided walks around the lodge. The Kinabatangan Riversidelodge is made up of a number of bungalows and chalets connected by wooden boardwalks. There is a restaurant, bar and decking area where you can sit out and overlook the river. The accommodation is basic, but spacious and clean and the opportunity to spot wildlife and birdlife here is exceptional.
