The charming Hotel La Villa was constructed in the 1930's by a tradesman from Battambang, and the architecture is dating from the French colonial period. The proprietor, Mr. Eap Heo later bequeathed his home to his two youngest children who then lived in the residence till the coup d'etat in 1975. The property has been impeccably renovated and with just six rooms there is a intimate feel to the property giving you the chance to chat to the incredibly friendly staff and enjoy a more personal service and experience. All the rooms are individually and stylishly decorated, each with a four poster bed with some having views over the river and others that open up into the garden. The restaurant serves Western and Asian foods in the restaurant or garden, or you can enjoy cocktails by the tranquil pool.
Rather uniquely the hotel can arrange rental of a tuk tuk should you wish to live like a local as you explore the pagodas of Battambang, explore the smaller villages and towns in the area or if you’re feeling brave, Cambodia not being known for its wine, you can venture out to the vineyards on Phnom Benon and sample the local produce.
If you would like include La Villa as part of the Crossing Cambodia in Style itinerary, or if you would like us to tailor make you an itinerary to include La Villa then please get in touch. Either email or call on 0207 359 3938, and we will look forward to planning your next trip for you.
