Mawamba Lodge, Tortuguero National Park
Mawamba Lodge is located on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, on a strip of land between the Tortuguero Canals and the beach. Set amongst 15 acres of lush tropical gardens, it is within walking distance of the village and is a member of the Rainforest Alliance ‘Best Management Practice’ scheme.
The 54 rustic rooms blend well with the surrounding exuberant jungle vegetation, and you will hear a cacophony of sounds as you lie in bed. The hammocks in the gardens are also perfect for relaxation after a busy day spotting turtles and birds.
Private nature trails and an open sky butterfly farm provide the opportunity to learn about the local flora and fauna, when not making use of the large pool.
Sold on a full board basis including wildlife spotting boat trips during the day, Mawamba is a great base to explore this special place.
