Raas, Jodhpur
This chic new property in the very heart of the old city of Jodhpur, offers stylish accommodation with direct views of the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. It comprises of four characterful havelis which have been beautifully restored, combined with contemporary new buildings all constructed from the local rose-red sandstone. There are 39 rooms and suites all with private balconies, 25 of which have views of the fort. They are decorated with great flair and care. They are contemporary, understated and make the most Jodhpur's pink sandstone and stunning black terrazzo, with splashes of "Jodhpur blue". They are state of the art and furnished to an exceptionally high degree of comfort and sophistication. There are also interconnecting rooms for families with younger children. To add a bit of fun to the proceedings Raas has its very own brightly painted tuk-tuk which guests can be whisked around the meandering maze of narrow lanes and bazaars that make up the old city on its doorstep.
