Our special places
We design holidays tailored to your priorities. Please contact us to discuss any destination.
Sal Salis is an exclusive eco-Safari camp, tucked away halfway up the remote Western coast of Australia. Nine spacious tents face out to the Indian Ocean, with wooden boardwalks winding over the dunes to the pristine beach. Set in Cape Range National Park there is plenty of wildlife, walks and a gorge to explore within the park, but the wow factor here is the fringing coral reef only a few fin kicks from the white sands of Ningaloo beach. With an abundance of coral, including my favourite, the electric blue staghorn variety, with skittish colourful fish darting around, it is a beautiful place to snorkel and dive. From April to June you can experience swimming with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays, and from April to August Sal Salis offer marine cruises to hopefully see a passing Humpback Whale.
The accomodation is divine. Although not 5 star in the traditional sense, the beds -proper beds- are incredibly comfortable, the bathrooms are light and airy with contemporary ceramic sinks, and open shower and flushing toilet. There are hammocks perfect for kicking back with a good book, or taking in the view and watching the wallabies hop past at sunset. The resturant speciallises in modern Australian cuisine with a nod to indignous bush food and always arrives immaculately presented. The main lodge has a resturant and a self service bar area and lounge to relax in, and should you run out of reading material, there’s a small library to peruse.
During your stay at Sal Salis, transfers, all meals, a selection of beverages from an open bar, guided sea-kayaking and snorkelling trips (all gear provided), guided gorge walks, a boat cruise on Yardie Creek and national park entry & camp fees. During the season of the Whale Sharks, they offer special 2 and 3 night packages.
