Settha Palace, Vientiane
Built at the turn of the last century and located in the centre of Vientiane, the Settha Palace is a chic bastion of French colonial architecture. Painstakingly restored, the hotel features all the modern comforts and amenities of a luxurious hotel while retaining its historic charm. Built in 1932, the hotel is a throw back to the era of Indochina with period furniture and landscaped gardens. The property has been owned by the same family since it the 1930s and their passion is apparent in every detail of the hotel and guest service.
The Settha Palace’s 43 rooms and suites are elegantly appointed and feature French colonial décor, four-poster beds and high ceilings. Polished wooden floors and marble bathtubs add to the lavish atmosphere. Modern facilities such as wireless internet access and satellite television blend seamlessly with the architecture, creating an ideal place to stay whilst experiencing the grandeur of Laos.
The hotel is located right in the city centre on a quiet side street. The grounds are landscaped with shady green trees and tropical plants and the beautiful swimming pool blends with the surrounding nature by featuring rock formations from central Laos.
