Tanzania is rich with breathtaking scenery, has an abundance of game to spot and white sand beaches that go on for miles. The Rufiji River Camp in the Selous Game Reserve is about twice the size of the Serengeti and one of Tanzania’s three World Heritage Sites. In addition to herds of zebra, wildebeest and hartebeest, the largest buffalo population in Africa, there are sable, eland and numerous giraffe. This wealth of herbivores supports large prides of lion and a flourishing population of wild dog. Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the varied habitats of the Selous. The perfect place to Safari. Spend 4 nights at one of twenty tents at the Rufiji River Camp, a family-owned and managed safari camp set on a bank above the Rufiji River – so after a day enjoying scheduled game drives and boat and walking safaris you can indulge in casual game-viewing from your private deck as the animals quench their thirst in the river after another hot day under the African sun.
Next stop is the blissful Lazy Lagoon for 7 nights, a castaway island 2km off the Tanzanian coast, with 9 kilometres of blissfully deserted white sand beach and great snorkelling – right off the beach. The 12 spacious beach bandas are designed to take full advantage of the sea breezes. Each has an upper loft, and a shaded private verandah – with chairs and a double hammock - perfect for kicking back and watching the fishing boats sail by.
Prices start from £2,450 per person based on 2 people sharing and includes return flights from London, domestic flights in Tanzania, road and boat transfers, safari accommodation including all meals and scheduled game activities and beach lodge including all meals.
