Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus
When our accountant and book-keeper decided the award-winning InterContinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel was the ideal choice for her family holiday, and then returned there the next summer, we knew we had a new family holiday resort we could recommend with confidence. When our landlord with his four children ranging from 4 to 14 did likewise, we knew we should be featuring it on our website too.
Although there are 400 privately owned villas as part of the resort (many available to rent), it is the hotel we feature as it clearly appeals to those clients of ours who enjoy a certain degree of indulgence and absolute comfort. Each of the 290 stylish and spacious guestrooms and suites are elegantly designed in a modern style, featuring both pool and garden or golf and sea views. For golf enthusiasts, staying here provides access to the 18-hole championship golf course and lessons can be taken to improve your skills, and there are also 11 tennis courts open late into the evening and a tennis academy for those of us, both adults and children, needing to improve our serve. For hedonists, the appeal is the comprehensive Greco-Roman Retreat Spa with no less than 18 treatment rooms.
Leisure activities abound for young guests at the Pirates Village kids club while the Grotto Fun Club has been created especially for teenagers aged 13 - 17 years. All ages will make use of the Beach Club (available May to September), while you can also hike nature and bike trails or tour the area on horseback. Shoppers will enjoy the Village Square, home to an array of bars and restaurants, and the family magnetic meeting point with entertainment laid on in high season. .
