Our special places
We design holidays tailored to your priorities. Please contact us to discuss any destination.
Your private car and chauffeur guide will meet you at the airport to transfer you to Vil Uyana for a 3 night stay at the heart of Sri Lanka’s famous cultural triangle. Your car and driver will be available to take you to the sites at Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Dambulla and we can add in a half day jeep safari in Minneriya National Park. If you happen to be here during the dry season (June – September) then you are likely to see herds of wild elephants grazing by the shallow waters.
Travel on to Kandy, the old capital of Ceylon and the seat of the last Singhalese Kingdom. Visit the Temple of the Tooth where the sacred tooth of Lord Buddha is enshrined. If you are lucky your honeymoon may coincide with the annual Esala Perahera Festival; a magnificent festival with exotically costumed dancers, drummers and decorated elephants that is celebrated over ten nights and usually occurs in the months of July or August.
Stay 2 nights at The Kandy House, a prestigious boutique property before travelling by train to Hatton, in the heart of the hill country. Subject to availability of tickets you will travel in the observation carriage from where you will have the best opportunities to view the stunning scenery on what is regarded by many enthusiasts as one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys. Your car and driver will meet you when you get off the train for the short drive to Tea Trails.
A 3 night stay in one of the beautiful colonial bungalows will give you the perfect opportunity to unwind. The manager at the bungalow will be very happy to give you plenty of suggestions on how to spend your day including local walks around the plantations, a visit to a nearby tea factory, cycling around the quiet country lanes. However you may chose to just relax by the pool, and enjoy the wonderful hospitality and food on offer.
Descend from the hill country to the Dutch fort town of Galle, located on the south west coast. One of Sri Lanka's most historically interesting towns, having being occupied by the Dutch, Portuguese and British, Galle dates back to 1505 when a Portuguese fleet bound for the Maldives was blown off course and took shelter in the harbour. The fort has a unique old world atmosphere that bears witness to its past through crumbling architecture, European street names and Dutch churches. The old colonial mansions, narrow streets, and ancient cars roaming the streets make Galle Fort a beautiful place to escape into the past. Take a dusk walk around the ramparts to witness one of the loveliest sunsets in the Indian Ocean.
A stay in the fort gives you an opportunity to sample the colonial atmosphere first hand and the Amangalla , located in a 400 year old building, has this in abundance.
Your final stop is Reef Villa, located on the beach half way between Galle and Colombo. To maintain the romance and privacy there are just 7 suites that feature romantic four-poster canopied beds. All rooms have spacious shaded verandas for private dining and antique Indian swings, which overlook the verdant gardens and views of the sparkling blue Indian Ocean. After an exhausting day resting on a palm shaded hammock, or taking a lazy stroll along the beach, cool down in the infinity edge pool and jacuzzi under gentle swaying coconut trees whilst gazing out at the Indian Ocean.
