Hotel Flora, Venice
The Hotel Flora is situated in a secluded position off the Calle XX11 Marzo, an elegant street full of excellent boutiques, near St Mark’s Square and a five minute walk to the Accademia Bridge.
The interior is comfortable as well as attractive, with an inviting bar and breakfast room and a particularly beautiful stairwell with original ceilings and a lovely cast iron banister. Outside there is a delightful shaded courtyard with wrought iron tables and a variety of plants and small trees, where guests can have breakfast and drinks in the summer months.
The hotel started as a small pensione and now has 44 rooms, but has kept its friendly atmosphere. The rooms are all different in size as well as in furnishings, but all are en suite and some can accommodate a third bed, making them suitable for families. They are individually furnished with antiques and richly coloured fabrics. All the rooms have internet access, temperature control and music and TV. In addition, the hotel has a new Technogym, equipped with a wide variety of fitness machines including the Gyrotonic® Expansion System.
The Hotel Flora is relatively inexpensive and in an excellent position, but what makes guests return there year after year is its warm hospitality. The hotel has been owned and managed by the Romanelli family for over 30 years and some of the staff have been with them since then. Their belief that service comes above everything is borne out by clients’ unfailingly positive comments.
