Agriturismo Sant'Illuminato
Sant'Illuminato is set in 18 hectares of land with uninterrupted views from the low hills overlooking the Tiber Valley close to the Umbrian / Tuscan border, near Citta di Castello, San Sepulcro and Cortona.
There is a large swimming pool protected by a fence, and a lake where you can row a boat, fish, or just picnic on the shores. This agriturismo is perfect for families, as the owners, who live on site, have small children themselves, and cots and high chairs are provided as well as outside toys.
The original building dates from the late 1600s, and has been painstakingly restored to preserve the original architecture and to create 5 independent and distinctive apartments. The thick stone walls keep the apartments cool in summer and warm in winter. All the apartments have wooden beams, terracotta stone tiles and stone fireplaces, but each is individually decorated and furnished. In addition, each apartment has a double sofa bed in the living room which can accommodate 2 extra people if necessary.
Sant’Illuminato is in an ideal position for visiting all the major sites of Umbria, but has plenty of space to enjoy the quieter delights of swimming in the pool or boating on the lake. The owner Marco, is rightly proud of it, and will do his best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, with advice on sights and restaurants, welcome drinks and dinner for all the guests once a week.
The Tulip - sleeps 4+4
This is the largest apartment with 2 twin rooms which can be made into doubles and can accommodate extra beds for children, and a bathroom with bath as well as shower. The sitting room is very spacious and the large kitchen is well equipped with an oven and dishwasher. The apartment is on the ground floor with views over the lake, and is perfect for a family. It also has disabled access.
The Olive Tree and The Sunflowers - sleeps 4+2
The Olive Tree is on the first floor and the Sunflowers on the ground, but otherwise they are similar, with views over the Tiber Valley. Both have 2 twin rooms which can be made into doubles and space for an extra bed for a child. They also have a large living/dining room, with a kitchen area (no oven) and a bathroom with shower.
The Roses - sleeps 4+2
This apartment is on the first floor overlooking the lake and has 2 bedrooms, with a double sofa bed in the living area. One bedroom has a hand painted four poster double bed and the other has twin beds. The living room in this apartment is upstairs and has a kitchen area (no oven). The bathroom has a bath as well as shower.
The Grapes - sleeps 2
This is a smaller apartment on the first floor with one double bedroom, a living room with kitchen area (no oven) and a bathroom with shower.

Prices are per apartment per week and include water, electricity, gas and final cleaning. Use of sofa bed £22 per person per night / £79 per week. Heating to be paid for on consumption. Minimum stay of 7 nights in July and August (Saturday to Saturday)and 3 night minimum stay in June and at Easter. Daily prices on request. Breakfast can be provided for Euro 7 per person per day.
