Gastronomic Italy
With flights from London to Perugia in Umbria and Trapani and Palermo in Sicily, enjoy superb hospitality and sublime cuisine whilst staying on two wine estate in these very different parts of Italy.
We realise food and wine are very importants factors in deciding where to go on holiday, so if you want to experience some great food and wine, we suggest combining a stay at the Locanda Palazzone in Umbria with La Foresteria in Sicily, with five nights in each.
The Locanda Palazzone is a magnificent medieval building lying on a hill outside Orvieto which has been restored and converted into a luxurious hotel. The owners produce fine Orvieto wine on the estate and all the food served in the restaurant is locally sourced and superb.
A short flight to Sicily will bring you to La Foresteria Planeta Estate, owned by the Planeta famiy who produce some of Sicily's most well renowed wine. It is located close to the town of Menfi, and within an easy drive of the beach and the archaeological site of Selinunte. It goes without saying that food and wine are taken seriously here. La Foresteria's beautiful kitchen serves up delicious Sicilian dishes using some of hte Planeta family's traditional recipes with mainly locally sourced ingredients.
