Marche Holidays
For many years I told my customers to avoid the overdeveloped coast of the Marche and to head inland to the renaissance perfection of Urbino. I know better now and it’s been a good ten years since we first shared our pleasure with you at discovering the beautiful stretch of coast just south of Ancona where the cliffs of Mount Conero produce a landscape more reminiscent of Cornwall than the Adriatic.
Regular forays inland north and south have revealed an enchanting mixture of unknown medieval towns and villages, rolling hills and the backdrop of the Sibillini Mountains, the perfect setting for our growing range of self-catering properties in the area. Try to fit in a visit to Ascoli Piceno if only to see if you agree with me that it contains Italy’s most beautiful square.

I Calanchi is an old agricultural estate which has been renovated to provide a comfortable, light, modern hotel in a spectacular position among olive groves and vineyards in the gently rolling hills of the southern Marche.
Casale il Cerro is an independent villa with private pool, close to the Tenuta le Piane estate and owned by the same family.
Tenuta le Piane is located within the Sibillini Mountain National Park - nearly two million acres of spectacular mountain scenery with densely forested slopes. Above the tree line are picturesque pastures which come alive with flowers in the spring.
