The lovely hotel is set in large gardens, which sweep down to the cliff edge, with wonderful views of the Riviera del Conero and the small coastal village of Portonovo.
Its location, only 10km south of Ancona, makes the Hotel Emilia the ideal base from which to discover this corner of Italy, which is becoming popular with British holidaymakers who come to discover the renaissance art of Urbino, or to explore the Conero National Park, with its rolling hills and dramatic limestone cliffs which plunge into the sea.
Lazy days can be spent by the large swimming pool or relaxing in the impressive cliff top gardens. Sporting activities such as windsurfing and horse riding can be arranged locally and for a spot of pure indulgence, massages can be arranged by prior appointment.
The stylish modern rooms are all spacious and bright. All the 26 rooms have private bathrooms and patio or balcony. Most of the standard rooms have sea views and six of them interconnect. Comfort rooms are slightly larger and have views onto the park and the sea. Most of the superior rooms are located on the second floor and have recently been refurbished. For a supplement guests can stay in one of 4 wonderful suites. The split level junior suite has a double bed on the mezzanine and a small living area, which leads on to the private balcony with comfortable sun loungers. In addition, there are 2 suites, both of which have large private balconies. The first is ideal for a family, with a double bed on the ground floor and twin beds on the mezzanine level whilst the second has a double bed upstairs, a large living area downstairs and a Jacuzzi bath, offering both space and privacy and making it the perfect option for a special occasion. Finally, the Royal Suite offers the maximum amount of space with a separate bedroom and living area with a kitchen corner.
The hotel restaurant has an excellent reputation, specialising in seafood and local dishes. During the warm summer months, meals are taken outside on the terrace. The Emilia provides an excellent standard of accommodation in a beautiful position, Rafaella and her friendly staff will ensure you receive a warm welcome.
