Casa Talia
Hidden along one of the many winding lanes of Modica, lies this collection of enchanting stone cottages.
“Talia” means “Look! Admire!” in Sicilian dialect and indeed the striking views of the city do not disappoint.
The architect owners Marco and Viviana moved to Modica with their young sons from Milan. Great thought has gone in to their ongoing restoration project with the use of natural and traditional Sicilian materials, creating a charming guesthouse and a delightful garden dotted with fruit trees.
Breakfast is served in the garden or on cooler mornings in the light-filled lounge area which has large windows and colourful antique tiles. The six bedrooms and suites, each with their own entrance and terrace area, are all individually furnished with keen attention to detail, blending old and new furnishings.
Modica is reached via a pathway which twists its way down to the heart of the city. Here you can explore the many excellent restaurants and traditional chocolate shops which are putting Modica on the map for more than just its Baroque history.
