It was formerly a fifteenth century Medici Palazzo and it retains the feel of the old house it used to be. It lies near the Piazza Santa Novella, whose church bells you can hear at regular intervals throughout the day. Most of the bedrooms have views across the red-tiled rooftops of medieval Florence. The rooms are traditionally furnished, with iron beds and painted furniture. In contrast, the bathrooms are modern and very well-equipped, with marble tiles and excellent fittings. There is an attractive bar and breakfast area downstairs, but in summer months breakfast is served in the lovely shaded courtyard where you can eat your breakfast surrounded by the scent of flowers.
