Palazzo dal Borgo, Florence

No other city has the effect of transporting you back to the Renaissance like Florence does, as you walk down its narrow streets and emerge into another piazza.
Whether it's a famous Michelangelo statue or a less well known Masaccio fresco, a medieval market place or an Oltrano restaurant, you quickly become immersed both in the art and the life of Florence.

It was formerly a fifteenth century Medici Palazzo and it retains the feel of the old house it used to be. It lies near the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, whose church bells you can hear at regular intervals throughout the day. Most of the bedrooms have views across the red-tiled rooftops of medieval Florence. The rooms are traditionally furnished, with iron beds and painted furniture. In contrast, the bathrooms are modern and very well-equipped, with marble tiles and excellent fittings. There is an attractive bar and breakfast area downstairs, but in summer months breakfast is served in the lovely shaded courtyard where you can eat your breakfast surrounded by the scent of flowers.
Please note that from the 1st July 2011, Florence will be charging a local tax per person per night depending on your hotel star rating. Palazzo Dal Borgo is a 4* hotel so you will be charged €4 per person per night, to be paid locally.
