Mazzaforte
Mazzaforte is in a stunning position on a hill with wonderful views of the lush green Umbrian countryside, situated near Citta di Castello and Umbertide and within easy reach of Perugia, Gubbio and Cortona.
It consists of 3 separate properties dating back 400 years, set in beautiful gardens. The properties can be rented separately or together for a large party.
All three properties are freshly decorated in light colours with simple but comfortable furnishings and terracotta tiled or wooden floors. The bathrooms are well designed, spacious and functional, All three benefit from the extensive and beautiful gardens and the large swimming pool which is set above the properties in a lovely position with a stunning view.
Casa Mazzaforte - sleeps 8
The largest, Casa Mazzaforte, sleeps 8 and is a very spacious and comfortable house, provided with everything you could possibly want. Downstairs there is a huge open plan sitting and dining room with comfortable sofas, leading on to a wide terrace with a lily pond complete with frogs and fish. The adjoining kitchen is also very spacious and exceptionally well equipped by the owners, Simon and Sally Millington (Sally is a serious cook). There are 2 hobs, a double gas oven and single electric oven, largee fridge and freezer, 2 dishwashers , as well as a utility/laundry room with washing machine. There is a guest bathroom on this floor as well. On the first floor there is an additional beamed reception room and two double bedrooms, both en suite with bath and shower. On the second floor are two more double bedrooms, also en suite, with shower.
Casa Verde - sleeps 4
Casa Verde is a separate property sleeping 4, next to Casa Mazzaforte but with its own garden and sitting out area. The ground floor is open plan with a large living room and adjoining kitchen, well equipped with fridge, cooker and a dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with a second fridge and washing machine. Two sets of double doors lead to the private garden. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, both en suite with shower.
L’Essicatoio - sleeps 2
L’Essicatoio is the third property, an unusual but very attractive building which sleeps 2 and again has its own large portico for sitting out and eating al fresco. The building is full of light because of 4 velux windows in the roof, in addition to the others. Inside the space has been very imaginatively designed with an open plan sitting room with a fitted kitchen and double doors leading onto the outside portico. The mezzanine floor has a double bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower.
