Okay, it's something to do with trying to rediscover the unspoilt Greece of the 60s and 70s that draws me to the Pelion. Strict building regulations have helped to save this part of Greece from overdevelopment so you can still find that perfect beach or sit in the square of a hilltop village under a large plane tree and only have to share the experience with local Greeks and aficionados of the area. With an outer Aegean coastline of spectacular sandy beaches and the calmer clear waters of the Pelion's inner curve, this is the perfect place to relax.
We all love to curl up with a good book on holiday. For holiday reading suggestions, take a look through our Reading List.
Dolphin's Leap has a wonderful location perched on the far corner above Lefokastro’s sandy beach with dramatic views across the gulf where the regular spotting of dolphins has given the house its name.
Irene Villa is a recently built, very comfortable, four bedroom villa with wonderful views over the Pagasitic Gulf near the pretty village of Horto in the Pelion.
Set amidst landscaped gardens and two acres of olive groves, with a beautiful swimming pool, Daphne Villa, is one of the most luxurious houses we have seen in the Pelion.
The Villa Elaionaki is not a holiday house, but a proper home, with a lovely garden, comfortable furniture and features such as attractive rugs and beautiful pictures collected over many years.
Eleftheria is near Irene Villa and Elaionaki and close to Horto but its position just a couple of hundred yards up from the small beach below makes it an ideal choice for a large family or two smaller ones.
This renovated stone house is in Metochi, a charming village in the Pelion, possibly the most beautiful area in Greece, with its green chestnut forests, wonderful beaches and small mountain and sleepy beachside villages.
This 120 year old traditional stone built house is situated in Vysitsa, one of the most attractive of the Pelion’s mountain villages, with wonderful views of the mountains and of the clear waters of the Pagasitic Gulf below.
This traditional stone-built house with its turquoise wooden shutters is set on the outskirts of Lafkos.
A fabulous retreat for relaxation in idyllic and unique surroundings in the Pelion region of the Greek mainland.
The Esperos Apartments are situated in the village of Lafkos, on top of a hill with a magnificent view down to the Pagisitc Gulf.
For many years we have used tour operators to send couples and families to this well run and attractive complex of comfortable rooms and apartments overlooking the sea just 15 minutes walk from the village of Horto and we were delighted when Maria, the friendly and helpful manager, asked us to work with the hotel directly.
While most of our Pelion accommodation is on the more sheltered Pagisitic Gulf coast we have made an exception with the small group of high quality apartments near the sea and the small seaside community of Agios Ioannis on the more rugged Aegean coast.
Naxos is the largest and in many ways the most interesting of the Cycladic islands. The variety of the landscape, a combination of lovely sandy beaches, a mountainous interior, green fertile valleys and white terraced villages makes it a wonderful place for walking.
Kavos Naxos is, as the name suggests, located on the Greek island of Naxos; the largest in the Cyclades and one of the most beautiful in Greece.
