Eleftheria is one of our four properties close to the seaside village of Horto but its position just a couple of hundred yards up from the small beach below makes it an ideal choice for a large family or two smaller ones.
This four bedroomed villa has a wonderfully relaxed feel about it because it was designed for a young family when it was built ten years ago and has been the place of many happy family holidays since. This is emphasized by the very attractive open living area with its comfortable sofa and chairs that opens out from the indoor dining area and well-equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The style is simple and comfortable with plenty of carefully sited windows and doors that when left open bring in the maximum light and breeze and make sure that the ground floor never feels too hot or airless. A variety of delightful pictures and framed posters add colour to the white walls. The living area leads out onto the wide front terrace where much of the day may be spent, or evenings with friends discussing matters of great, or probably more mundane, importance.
In contrast to the upside-down nature of many houses in the Pelion, three of the bedrooms are upstairs, two of which, including the master bedroom, are air-conditioned and have that coveted view of the Pagasitic Gulf. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and a balcony which is the perfect spot to wait for those perfect sunsets that arrive conveniently with an early evening chilled beer or glass of wine. The twin bedded upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom (with a bath which is always a godsend with very young children) while the fourth bedroom (double bed) downstairs has an adjacent bathroom with shower and toilet.
Pretty Horto with its excellent choice of tavernas and a couple of all-purpose mini-markets is within walking distance or a short drive although there will be the temptation not to stir from your chosen terrace. But most of the eating takes place outside in a shaded area amid olive trees where imaginative slate walling and lovely terracing provides a choice of setting for your breakfast or preferred spot for relaxing with a good book.
