Lafkos House

This traditional stone-built house with its turquoise wooden shutters is set on the outskirts of Lafkos.

Lafkos is a beautiful old Pelion village with a famous square shaded by huge plane trees, in the hills behind Milina. Although it is only a five minute walk into the centre of Lafkos, the house is utterly peaceful and has a wonderful view of the mountains of Pelion and the surrounding countryside.

As is the case in most Pelion houses, the living area is upstairs so that the view can be fully enjoyed, and the two bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs. The living area is open plan and includes the kitchen, with an electric cooker and fridge freezer, and a small dining area. The walls have been taken back to the stone in typical Pelion style, and are complemented by the wooden floors, units and staircase. The room has a comfortable feel to it as a result of the attractive furnishings. French windows open out onto a small wrought iron balcony and the beautiful view beyond, and additional windows make the room very light and airy.

Downstairs there are two double bedrooms, one is fairly small, but the other is a substantial size, has plenty of storage space and a large adjoining bathroom which also contains a washing machine. Between the bedrooms is another bathroom with shower, and another area with a double futon. The large bedroom and bathroom open out onto a terrace with barbecue area.

In the daytime Lafkos is very quiet, but in the evening it comes into its own when people visit the tavernas in the town square. However, if you want to eat by the sea it is only a short distance to Milina where there are even more bars and restaurants to choose from.

The house would be a perfect choice for a couple on their own or with small children. Its proximity to the village makes it very convenient, but at the same time it is easy to get by car to the different beaches and other areas of interest nearby.

If you would like to combine your stay at Villa Irene with some walking in the Pelion, why not join our associates Walk Pelion. They offer 7 day group walks in the Spring and Autumn or we can arrange daily walks on an ad hoc basis. For more water based activity, how about going diving with Diving Pelion?
