Cortijo Valverde
Driving through the Andalucían countryside with a landscape rich in citrus fruit trees, olive groves and rocky outcrops you arrive at The Cortijo Valverde to be greeted by your hosts Ali and Caroline who left the British lifestyle to set up a guesthouse.
The property comprises seven rooms, three of which are located in the main house while the other five are casitas set independently in the grounds. Each casita is individually decorated in a traditional rustic style with open beamed ceilings. Rooms offer double/twin beds, a bathroom with a walk in shower, air conditioning and a private terrace overlooking the large swimming pool and the beautiful gardens.
Ali and Caroline's friendliness has created a house party atmosphere. While Caroline prepares an endless variety of Mediterranean dishes, Ali will endeavour to make your stay memorable offering ideas for local walks and sightseeing over a pre-dinner drink. Dinner is a social event with guests seated together to enjoy the panoramic views down the valley. Breakfast is a leisurely affair with a choice of continental or cooked breakfast. Fresh bread is baked daily and there is an array of homemade jams to choose from.
The Cortijo is situated fifteen minutes drive from the ancient hill top village of Alora and perfectly positioned to visit the Spanish cities of Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Ronda. The coast can also be reached within 45 minutes.
