Fora da Caixa is a stylish architect-designed villa, with a traditional exterior look, but with a luxurious contemporary and light interior. It is situated on the Costa da Prata, or Silver Coast in Portugal, 45 minutes north of Lisbon, very close to the white sandy beaches at Foz do Arelho.
The villa overlooks the Obidos Lagoon, and all the living areas are designed to make the best use of this view. The large open plan kitchen/dining/living area overlooks it, as do the first floor sitting room and the outside terraces. All the rooms are light, airy and spacious and the villa has a very relaxed feel.
The kitchen is very well equipped, with gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and American style fridge/freezer. The villa also has satellite TV with DVD, a CD player and a separate laundry room with washing machine and drier. The dining table seats 12, and there is a further eating area on the terracotta tiled terrace leading out from this area, with tables, chairs and umbrellas.
Upstairs there is a further living area with comfortable leather sofas and rugs, a wood burning stove and contemporary oil paintings. French windows lead out onto a balcony. Three of the villa’s five bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, are on this floor, with the other two twin bedrooms on the ground floor. All the bedrooms have luxury en suite bathrooms.
Outside, the large (10 x 5 metres) heated pool is well equipped with loungers and umbrellas where you can happily sunbathe all day, or relax in one of the landscaped garden spaces. Practice watersports on the lagoon, discover local beaches and small towns, or venture slightly further afield to the wonderful medieval walled town of Obidos, or further to the exciting, cosmopolitan city of Lisbon.
