The Pomegranate House
The Pomegranate House is an eighteenth century farmhouse in the southern Marche, near the historic town of Fermo, which has been carefully and authentically restored to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 12 plus 2 children
The house is set in 28 acres of farmland and is completely private; the views from the house and pool are of the Ete Valley, the typical rolling hills of the Marche with their patchwork effect, and the distant peaks of the Sibillini Mountains.
The house itself is very attractive both inside and out, and retains most of the original features, such as stone walls and wooden beams. There are 5 double rooms, one twin and one with bunk beds, most with wrought iron beds, and each with its own ceiling fan and en suite bathroom. There is a large kitchen downstairs with an outside veranda with table for al fresco dining. Upstairs, there is a living room with flat screen TV with satellite, DVD and stereo system, dining area and a large terrace with wonderful views. All the rooms are well furnished, and decorated in the soft warm colours typical of the region.
The swimming pool is set apart from the house and has lovely views. Loungers, umbrellas and a pergola are provided. The house is set in an area which is part of a forestation project; there are therefore many different species of trees attracting a variety of birds. There are several walking trails from the house, or alternatively, you may hire mountain bikes or go horse riding nearby.
The Pomegranate House would be an ideal choice for two or three families wishing to holiday together. The beaches of the southern Adriatic are within half an hour’s drive, and there are many picturesque hill towns nearby.
The house is owned by Daniel Jennings, who is British, and his Italian wife Candida. During the summer months, they live with their young children in the separate apartment next to the house. They are very friendly and relaxed and will be able to help you in all ways, from recommending the best local restaurants to suggesting the best designer outlets nearby. Daniel is also a trained masseur and offers a wide range of holistic massages on site.
