Villa Gonzola

Gonzola is a large farmhouse built in the local stone, overgrown with roses, honeysuckle and ivy. The house overlooks wheat and sunflower fields and a small wood.

It has a real sense of seclusion and is ideal for a group of friends or a family wanting a Tuscan retreat.  Gonzola has enchanting gardens with rosemary, sage and lavender and has views of the clay hills typical of the region.

There is an external staircase which leads to the main living area on the first floor with a large living room with an open fireplace, a beautifully painted cobalt kitchen and dining room.  Also located on this floor is a master bedroom with en suite, a double en suite overlooking the pool, a twin bedroom and a further double bedroom with separate bathroom, all decorated in typical Tuscan colours. 

On the ground floor there is a large summer living room decorated in pale soft colours with large windows, many of which are looking out on to the garden.  This room stays very cool and is ideal for the daytime where you can read or play table tennis.  A twin bedroom with unusual antique beds is located on the ground floor with en suite facilities.

Within the spacious grounds of the villa there is a large swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers. A pool house is located to the left of the main farmhouse, also in keeping with the local buildings.  It has a changing room with a shower and WC, and there is a small kitchen with fridge and washbasin.  A pergola with vine and wisteria stretches out from the pool house which is a lovely shaded area for al fresco dining.

Whether you decide to spend your days relaxing in the comfort of the villa, ambling through the stunning countryside or driving to the nearby towns of the region to sample the local delicacies, Gonzola is a fantastic place to do it.
