La Carolee
Le Carolee is set in a wonderful position with stunning views over the estate and the neighbouring agricultural land.
Le Carolee is a haven of peace and tranquillity, while the views of olive groves are breathtaking. The main building, Casa Rossa, has a traditional rustic style and has similarities to an old castle complete with turrets. The restaurant on the ground floor overlooks a central courtyard. A real emphasis is placed on the food and you will be sure to enjoy the traditional Calabrian home grown food, much of which is organically produced.
There are 7 bedrooms on the first floor with en suite facilities, including one pair of rooms which share a main door and a bathroom, which is ideal for a family with young children. The furnishings are simple, but with a warm homely feel. On the ground floor there is a living room where you can enjoy a good book from the small library. However, most people enjoy relaxing on the sun loungers by the swimming pool among the citrus trees.
There is a second building 5-10 minutes drive away through the olive groves of the farm called Casa Gialla which can be hired in its entirety on a weekly basis. This independent house has a similar style to Casa Rossa with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. The living room can accommodate two children, sleeping a maximum of 6 people. Residents of Casa Gialla can use the facilities of Casa Rossa, but a reservation for dining in the restaurant would be advised and due to a steep staircase, Casa Rossa is not suitable for families with young children.
Whether you intend to spend your days relaxing by the pool or exploring the local area we would recommend a 3 to 4 night stay at this attractive agriturismo enjoying the hospitality of Federico and his family.
