Villa Montauto
Montauto is a haven of tranquillity and serenity, set amid woods and fields, with spectacular views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.
The house is built in a traditional local stone around a central courtyard with roses, lavender and rosemary – a perfect spot for al fresco dining. The garden has several different areas for relaxing as well as two outside dining areas and a barbeque terrace. Steps lead down to the large swimming pool where there are several chairs and sun loungers.
On the ground floor there is a beautiful open plan kitchen and dining room with exposed wooden beams and terracotta stone floors. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a spacious larder. On this floor there is also a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, as well as a bathroom with a bath. All the ground floor bedrooms have French windows leading out to the garden.
On the first floor there is a large living room with an antique stone fireplace and bookcase. There is also a large double bedroom with en suite facilities, another double bedroom leading through to a single bedroom and separate bathroom with bath.
If you can tear yourself away from the idyllic setting there are plenty of nearby towns and cities to explore including Montepulciano in very close proximity and Florence and Rome within a 2 hour drive.
