Mark Collins on behalf of Sanitation First is currently rowing across the Atlantic for 40 days to raise money for the charity, ending up after 3,000 miles in the hopefully balmy waters of Antigua for a much-needed rest.

Real Holidays have supported Sanitation First for many years so we’re delighted to see that more awareness and funds will be raised with this daring endeavour. Mark is hoping to raise £25,000 to build eco-toilets and wash stations for underprivileged school children in southern India. These facilities will benefit 500 children living in one of the most impoverished areas of India, where they have no access to any toilets or washrooms.

We wish Mark and the team all the best of luck for a safe, calm passage and some down time on arrival in Antigua. More of a Real Challenge than a Real Holiday, we’re proud to support this fundraiser for a charity that transforms lives in India and Africa through the basic but essential needs of sanitation.
