    From the canyons and semi-desert regions of the north to the picturesque colonial towns of the Central Highlands; from the remains of mystical Aztec and Mayan civilisations to the blissful coasts – Mexico is a country of rich diversity in both its culture and natural beauty. Begin in the capital, Mexico City, a fascinating city with a distinct mestizo culture, blending native Indian (Nahuatl) and Spanish heritages, before heading to the country’s heartland to explore colonial gems and visit indigenous communities and ancient Mayan sites. After exploring the world heritage site of Chichen Itza, head to the Riviera Maya for some time relaxing on the beach.

    Day 1

    Upon arrival in Mexico City you will be met and transferred to your city hotel.

    Overnight: Mexico City

    Day 2

    Today enjoy a guided walking tour of Mexico City Historic Centre, visiting Diego Rivera’s Murals in Alameda Park, the Palacio de Bellas Artes; Modern Art Museum enjoy an overview of Templo Mayor archaeological site and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We can later arrange for you to climb to the top of the Angel of Independence, one of the country´s most recognized landmarks which honours the heroes of Mexico´s War of Independence.

    Day 3

    Enjoy a privately guided tour of the stunning archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, famous for the enormous Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon.

    Day 4

    Fly to Tuxtla Gutierrez and then transfer towards Chiapa de Corzo and the Sumidero Canyon. Travel by boat on a trip through the majestic rock walls of the towering Sumidero Canyon, where you may see crocodiles and cormorants among other wildlife. Continue to San Cristóbal de las Casas for an evening guided orientation walk by a local expert guide who can point out great restaurant options and local jazz clubs.

    Overnight: San Cristobal de las Casas

    Day 5

    Visit the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinancantan for a beautiful and relaxing hike through the connecting forest. Back in San Cristobal you will end the day with a privately guided visit to Na Bolom and local textile museums.

    Day 6

    Travel to Palenque visiting the Mayan archaeological site of Tonina enroute.

    Overnight: Palenque

    Day 7

    Journey by boat along the Usumacinta River, the natural border between Mexico and Guatemala, to the home of the isolated Lacandon Maya tribe. Explore the Mayan sites of Yaxchilan and Bonampak, as the call of the howler monkey reminds you just how far from modern civilisation you are. 

    Overnight: Palenque

    Day 8

    Visit the archaeological zone of Palenque, then later fly to Merida.

    Overnight: Merida

    Day 9

    Enjoy a tour to the legendary Mayan temples of Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before heading to the colonial town of Izamal to have lunch and explore the mysterious Yellow City including the historical Franciscan monastery. Continue to Chichen Itza.

    Overnight: Chichen Itza

    Day 10

    Enjoy an early morning guided visit to Chichen Itza, admiring the site prior to the arrival of the crowds for an unforgettable experience.  Continue to Tulum, on the Riviera Maya coast.

    Overnight: Tulum

    Day 11-13

    Relax on the beaches, explore the sites of Tulum and Cobá, and swim and snorkel at the Cenote Dos Ojos cave.

    Overnight: Tulum

    Day 14

    Transfer to Cancun airport for your flight home.
