    Day 1

    Fly overnight to Cape Town

    Overnight: In flight

    Day 2

    Arrive into Cape Town airport, from where you will collect your hire car, and head to the trendy waterfront area, where you’ll find a wide selection of great restaurants.

    Day 3

    On the second day, following an excellent breakfast, you may wish to a trip out to Table Mountain, from where you’ll have access to glorious views over the region, as well as some fantastic hiking. If all that’s a bit too much, the cable car up and down the mountain makes things so much easier.

    Day 4

    No trip to Cape Town is complete without a visit to Robben Island, primarily famous for both the prison in which Nelson Mandela was held, but also with a huge population of wildlife, with the penguins a particular highlight.

    Day 5-6

    After leaving the city, it is time to drive for an hour or two towards the winelands, where there are several excellent hotel in which you can stay, all with fantastic restaurants and a wonderfully laid-back feel.

    Day 8-9

    As you drop back down towards the coast, Hermanus is always a good place for the next stop, with glorious coastal scenery, as well as some excellent boat trips available. June to November is peak whale watching season, but you can be lucky all year round.

    Day 10-11

    Further along the coast is Plettenberg Bay, a great stretch of coastline for relaxing before heading off on safari. There are several excellent beaches in the area, while the climate is particularly good throughout the year, making it a great area in which to spend a couple of days.

    Day 12-14

    Finally, you will head off on safari, taking a flight from George Airport into the Kruger National Park. On arrival, you’ll be met by one of the fantastic guides, who’ll ensure you spend the next couple of days viewing as much wildlife as possible. 3 nights is really the minimum amount of time to spend here, there’s just so much to do.

    You will arrive back into the UK in the early morning.
