Day 1 – July 26th
Be met at Pisa Airport for your private transfer to the 5-star Bagni di Pisa hotel where you’ll stay for three nights in a Comfort Room with breakfast included. Settle into the majestic hotel that was once the summer palace of the Grand Duke of Tuscany in 1743 and has a stunning panorama over the rolling olive groves between Lucca and Pisa.
Interiors play homage to 18th century décor with original high-ceilinged frescos, plenty of marble and vast, draped windows. One of the real draws of the hotel, which has lured visitors since the 17th century, are the mineral-rich thermal waters, which flow through a series of springs, baths and outdoor pools. There’s an emphasis on wellness at Bagni di Pisa, although enjoying the pleasures of food and wine are also strongly encouraged.
Day 2 – July 27th
With a full free day, we suggest exploring Pisa, Lucca and the surrounding areas. Bagni di Pisa is positioned halfway between Lucca and Pisa so it’s easy to do a morning in Pisa followed by an afternoon in Lucca. We can arrange a driver and knowledgeable guide for the day, alternatively you can wander these historic cities on your own steam.
To avoid the crowds head early to Piazza dei Miracoli to appreciate the dazzling architectural wonders of Pisa’s Golden Age in the 11th century. Immaculate buildings surround you at every turn: the ornate duomo, the domed baptistry and Camposanto cemetery and of course the Leaning Tower, the world’s most famous architectural failure. Onto Lucca to explore the Medieval-era city walls and the historic centre inside. Have pizza in the Piazza dell’ Anfiteatro then climb the Romanesque-Gothic Guinigi tower, topped with ancient oak trees, for a view over the city’s terracotta-tiled roofs from above. Suitably cultured, return to the hotel for a swim, and have dinner on the terrace enjoying Tuscan classics such as wild boar parpadelle and fish stew.
Day 3 – July 28th
Today might be the day you choose to rejuvenate yourself in preparation for the big night with the maestro Andrea Bocelli and his friends. Spend the day enjoying the thermal waters in mineral-rich pools, hot springs and atmospheric steam caves.
In the evening enjoy a private transfer to Bocelli’s private villa in Forte dei Marmi. The fundraiser ‘Celebrity Fight Night in Italy’ is in its 6th year and is an offshoot of one of America’s most prestigious charity events, which ‘fights’ for different charities each year. By attending this event you and celebrities such as George and Amal Clooney will be supporting the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. After a champagne reception, you’ll be seated stage side on an exclusive silver-tiered ticket to enjoy a sumptuous meal, engage in a charity auction then sit back and enjoy the show. The concert will include songs from Bocelli himself plus performances from celebrity guests.
Day 4 – July 29th
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before a private transfer takes you to the airport in Pisa for your flight home.
