Good to know

There’s a certain amount of ‘mucking in’ on this adventure trip so expect to get involved – and have a richer experience because of it.

Getting around

Your transport for the duration of your journey is a 4WD Land Cruiser, each seat forward facing with great visibility.

Day 4-5

Into the Moremi

From the delta, take a day to reach Moremi Game Reserve, the delta’s eastern section and the jewel of Botswana. Arguably one of the best wildlife viewing destinations in Africa, Moremi’s varied habitats make it a flourishing paradise for birdwatchers. The vast surrounding grasslands, mopane forests, lagoons and rivers are home to a striking array of creatures from cheetah and white rhino to over 500 species of bird.

Spend the day exploring this prolific wilderness on open 4WD game drives including traversing the wildlife concession along the Mababe River where hippo, buffalo and lion come to drink and bathe. Spend two nights in a remote tented bush camp in a concession that borders Moremi. Simple yet with everything you need, your bush camp gives you the ultimate experience in the wild.

Day 8-10

Cruise the Chobe

The last section of your exploration of Botswana’s wild places sees you discover Chobe National Park. Heading northeast from Suveti to the far reaches of the country, leaving the small town of Kasane behind as you reach your riverside location on the bank of the Chobe River.

Enjoy the pleasure of game viewing on the river during a day cruise with lunch served on board. A relaxing and productive way to see wildlife as you cruise along the river, from your vantage point spot hippos wallowing and lions drinking at the shore, while fish eagles swoop overhead. As the sun sets, watch as the riverine scenery turn golden, creating magical moments on the water and continual wildlife viewing. Spend two nights at Jackalberry Chobe Lodge, a locally run and comfortable lodge with a swimming pool and restaurant serving meals created from homegrown produce. On your final night in Chobe, indulge in a nightcap around the boma under a magnificently twinkly sky listening to the nocturnal sounds of the river.
