Boutique Charm

Pass through an unassuming façade, clad in greenery, and find yourself in a three-storey townhouse that leads to a cosy library and out into a patio garden. With just 11 bedrooms, Legado Mítico is run by a small team of friendly staff who’ll make you feel at home. The interior décor is inspired by Argentinian culture and bedrooms are named after influential figures from Argentina’s history including Che Guevara and Eva Perón. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with original detailing like fireplaces, Andean rugs and colourful artwork. Light streams in through French windows; some have terraces.

A Day at Legado Mítico

Start your day with a wholesome breakfast, served on the ground floor and spilling out into the patio – enjoy fresh juices, fruit, coffee, pastries and eggs cooked to order. From the hotel, head out exploring for the day – stay nearby and browse the weekend craft fairs, markets and shops of Palermo Viejo, or go for a wander in the Parque Tres de Febrero with plenty of greenery and a boating lake. To get to the city centre, it’s a 20-minute taxi ride where busy Buenos Aires awaits to explore from the Recoleta Cemetery, Latin American art at MALBA museum or a tango class to learn the art of Argentina’s most famous dance. Back at the hotel, take a glass of smooth malbec to enjoy in the patio garden and decide which local restaurant to eat out at – there are plenty of good choices nearby, ask your hosts for recommendations.

Good to Know

The area around the hotel can get busy over the weekends. Although the bedrooms that face the street do have triple glazing which keeps the noise out, you might like to book a room at the back if you’re a light sleeper. Also – no children under 12 are permitted in the hotel.

What we Think

For a comfortable stay and a respite from sightseeing, Legado Mítico is a great choice. Add in the ease with which you can visit local restaurants and bars makes it a relaxing place to stay to explore the local area.
