Happy Families
Homely yet also hugely stylish, Mas La Pletera is the ultimate pad for a group of friends to enjoy time together in this off-radar part of Spain where wild beaches meet the beauty of the Medes Islands. Nearby cultural villages such as Peratallada, Begur, Pals and Cadaques showcase the region’s deep affinity for the arts and the glorious light that attracted artists like Picasso, Miro and Duchamp. Your home is the sprawling Mas La Pletera, which is made up of a restored farmhouse and an additional modern build created with local stone and glass with an on-trend desaturated colour palette. Outside, 20 hectares of land include an ecological swimming pool, ping pong table, boules court and a pergola for shady lunches and evening drinks. Spend days languidly cycling to and from the beach or to take a boat trip to visit the Medes Islands; there’s also a horse-riding school nearby for canters through nature and on the beach. Come evening, fire up the barbecue for a family feast or walk along the sandy shore to reach the village of L’Estartit to find restaurants serving Catalan cuisine.
