Not only is Villa Daphne one of the most luxurious houses on the Pelion Peninsula, it also gives unsurpassed views onto the Pagasetic Gulf from its terraces and offers a glimpse into a quaint and peaceful Greek way of life. Here time slows, from the first swim of the day, to coffee in the village square, long lazy lunches on the terrace, afternoon naps by the pool and balmy evenings under the stars. With four bedrooms, there’s enough space for a family or group and with both a taverna and a beach within walking distance this is the perfect set up for a gorgeous Greek holiday.

Insider tip
Walk along the coast to a small village and have dinner at Martha’s taverna in Horto.

The cool interior of the house is a welcome respite from hot Greek sun and is large enough to be a relaxing base for a family or group, with three double bedrooms (two ensuite) and one twin bedroom. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished with local fabrics, and are air-conditioned, with insect screens on the windows. The open-plan living area is spacious and minimalist in design with a large dining table, comfortable white linen sofas, an open fire and a luxury kitchen with every facility you might want, including a large fridge/freezer, double oven, dishwasher plus a separate laundry area.
However, the outside area of the house is what makes it exceptional, with the spectacular and unsurpassed view from each of the outside terraces and the large pool – which can be heated at certain times – with outside shower. The dining table on the main front terrace seats 8, and from here you can enjoy the changing view at different times of day, from the clear light of the early morning, the magnificent sunset over the islands of the Pelion or moonlight shimmering on the water.
And nearby, the fantastically unspoilt area of the Pelion is ready to be explored, with a quiet beach just 5 minutes’ walk away and along the coast, thickly forested hills and olive groves that roll down to meet pebbly coves, lapped by warm, transparent water. At the seaside village of Horto, join locals for a morning coffee or ouzo, or browse the market at Argalasti.
“Simply slow your pace and breathe, life is very relaxing here.”
Please note that sometimes the villa owner may stay on the grounds in quarters accessed by a private entrance, and separate from the rest of the house.
