    Windjammer Landing - Caribbean

This secluded set of villas and suites on Saint Lucia’s north-west coast is one of the island’s best family resorts.

    Where to find it

Located beside a soft-sand beach, Windjammer Landing combines a villa holiday’s privacy and independence with hotel facilities like a spa and kids’ club. There’s an option to self-cater but, after busy days taking advantage of the free water sports, you might prefer to dine in one of the five onsite restaurants.

“If you want the privacy and independence of a villa holiday with the benefits of hotel facilities, Windjammer Landing is the best of both worlds.”

    The lowdown

    • Need to know

Windjammer is spread over a steep hillside with lots of steps, so we don’t recommend it for those with mobility issues.

    • insider Tip

Take a taxi to Pigeon Island to visit the Fort and snorkel off the beaches.

A wide range of Mediterranean-style rooms, suites and villas stand scattered on the hillside above the bay or on the ocean front at North Point. One to four-bedroom villas all feature terracotta floors, full kitchens and private terraces as standard, and it’s well worth upgrading to have your own private plunge pool too. The larger Estate Villas come with full pools and your own chef, while the new two and three-bedroom luxury North Point Villas boast contemporary design and commanding sea views.

When it comes to facilities, you’re spoiled for choice at Windjammer. Down at the beach, you can take to the waters for complimentary sailing, snorkelling and kayaking among a wide range of aquatic activities. The separate kids and teen clubs provide engaging activities and friendship making opportunities for youngsters, allowing adults to slip off to the well-equipped spa. There are also yoga classes and flood-lit tennis courts onsite, plus golf nearby. And did we mention the six separate swimming pools?

Dining options are just as extensive, with five restaurants and four bars ensuring you need never order the same thing twice. Dragonfly serves up local Caribbean flavours as well as a lively Friday night fish fry, or you can tuck into pizzas and pastas at Papa Don’s. Head to Jammers for casual beachside dining – and be sure to try the Mango Rum Shrimp. You can choose to stay on a room only, B&B, half board or all-inclusive basis.
