Travel has shaped my life for as long as I can remember - so much so that I often joke it's part of my DNA. Moments are what I hold most dear, whether that's being part of a traditional Turkish wedding, chasing the Northern Lights in the wilds of Northumberland, soaring high on a helicopter ride over Mauritius, or worshipping at a local Balinese temple.

With six years of writing for acclaimed travel magazines and bespoke tour operators, I craft captivating web pages and compelling magazine features. My talent lies in creating immersive social media content and striking marketing materials that inspire our clients to keep exploring the world’s most extraordinary destinations.

Jade's favourite destinations

From the dazzling azure shores of Indonesia to the heart-wrenching remains of Pompeii, I've been privileged to travel around the globe, finding inspiration and a sense of belonging in some of the most unlikely places. Below are a few of my favourite destinations:

  • Turkey

Turkey is such a diverse country, from the bustling streets of Istanbul where East meets West, to the serene landscapes of Cappadocia and the turquoise coasts of the Aegean and Mediterranean. Not to mention the charming seaside villages where weekly markets give way to local restaurants, where each ingredient takes centre stage, creating mouth-watering dishes.

Having spent over a decade visiting Turkey, I have so many wonderful memories, including embarking on a day-long boat trip, in a traditional gulet, around 12 islands. We set sail from Fethiye Harbour, breeze rippling through my hair as the sailors expertly navigated the turquoise waters, anchoring at hidden coves where we swam, snorkelled, and savoured freshly grilled fish and chicken under the sun.

  • Mauritius

During the last COVID lockdown, I was fortunate enough to escape to the paradise island of Mauritius, where I enjoyed two weeks of sun, sea, sand, and the most exquisite seafood. It's an island with everything to ensure your entertainment and comfort - luxurious resorts with attentive staff, waves superb for surfing and scuba diving, mountains meant for hiking, and African wildlife that wouldn't look out of place on safari.

I loved driving along coastal roads, discovering hidden beaches, sampling incredible food from roadside shacks, weaving through vibrant jungles filled with curious monkeys, and visiting awe-inspiring temples thronged with devoted worshippers.

  • Bali

My most recent journey took me to Bali - the farthest I’ve ever ventured from home and one of the most transformative experiences of my life. This small island pulses with energy: its people radiate warmth, and its landscape unfolds in emerald rice fields, ancient temples, and the dramatic silhouette of a looming volcano.

There’s so much to see in Bali, but I recommend seeing as many Balinese dances and theatre productions as possible. Each performance is a mesmerising blend of intricate movements, traditional music, and vibrant costumes, offering a profound glimpse into the island’s spiritual and cultural heritage. From the dramatic Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu Temple to the elegant Legong dances in Ubud, these shows are unforgettable windows into the soul of Bali.

Jade's travel experiences

Choosing my favourite travel experience is as impossible as asking a parent to name their favourite child. I’ve been fortunate to collect countless unforgettable moments across the globe, and my answer changes daily. One memory forever etched in my mind is soaring above Mauritius in a helicopter, gazing down at the breathtaking underwater waterfall illusion. Along the way, I uncovered an island steeped in history and culture - from a mountain linked to the liberation of slavery, to lush tea plantations, and mysterious pyramids that rival Egypt’s grandeur. Another standout adventure was my Knight’s Templar-inspired road trip through Portugal, where I found myself lost in a mountain village with houses carved from massive boulders, crossed a nearly four-mile-long, dizzyingly steep aqueduct, and paid tribute at the tombs of legendary knights.
