Travel Planner

It’s hard to believe I didn’t get on a plane until I was 19. Today, travel defines not only my work but also my free time - it’s not an understatement that I live and breathe travel! I always have a trip in the pipeline, and I love solo travel. I’m at my happiest when I’m exploring a new country, absorbing its culture.

I get huge satisfaction in my job as a Travel Planner. Through my own travel experiences, I have the privilege of inspiring clients to take that trip they’ve always wanted. I love being able to craft a holiday that really hits the spot - whether it’s a visit to the vineyards of Tuscany, a family adventure in Asia, skiing in Whistler, a jungle-clad hotel in the Seychelles or a journey across the islands of Greece.

Shelley's Fave Places

From America to Italy, I relish the chance to explore in-depth wherever I am. With my camera in hand, I'm always on the lookout for unusual ways to explore the world's most fascinating destinations.

  • Vancouver

My favourite city is Vancouver, I lived here for two years and believe it has everything: beaches, lakes, mountains, unrivalled scenery and one of the most walkable cities in the world.

It’s also the gateway to the Rocky Mountains, I loved the chance to hop onto the Rocky Mountaineer and see the changing landscapes as you travel through British Columbia into Alberta, seeing incredible wildlife such as bald eagles and bears along the way

  • America’s Deep South

America’s Deep South holds a special allure for me; Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans all wowed me with their welcoming people and all-pervading music that gets under your skin.

While the music and locals are a huge draw to this area of the USA, the beautiful historical buildings, the view across the Mississippi River and Creole culinary delights also make this a bucket list trip. Also, a visit to New Orleans is not complete without a stop at Café du Monde for beignets!

  • Cinque Terre, Italy

I was totally stunned by the Cinque Terre, an incredible place that made me fall hard for Italy. It also ignited my passion for photography – now I love to explore the world through the lens of my camera.

When stepping from the tiny commuter train and rounding the corner into Riomaggiore, the view that welcomed me simply didn’t look real. I hiked between the five towns, stopping to sample the limoncello, calzone and gelato on offer at each pitstop, then boarded a boat back to La Spezia, admiring the towns from afar as they appeared to tumble into the sea from the cliff edges.

Shelley’s Favourite Experiences

I feel very lucky to have had so many experiences to reminisce on but these are some of my favourites… Accidentally joining a six-hour-long Floating Market tour in Bangkok for the princely sum of £1.50. Watching fireworks from a boat on Lake Como on a beautiful summer’s night. Savouring a private dinner at the stunning Otahuna Lodge in New Zealand. Spending time in the desert of Utah between the mesas of Amangiri. Snorkelling the famous Champagne Reef in Dominica. Enjoying a helicopter tour over the Rocky Mountains. Finally, as a huge country music fan, standing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville! Read below for some of my hand-picked ideas....
