Menorca
Exploring the historic streets of Ciutadella is a highlight of Menorca, with its cobbled lanes, elegant squares and striking cathedral at its heart. In contrast, the capital, Maó, is shaped by one of the Mediterranean’s largest natural harbours and boasts a blend of Spanish and British influences. Beyond the towns, the island’s protected landscapes – recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – offer a slower, more traditional side of Balearic life.
Along the coast, Son Bou provides the longest sandy stretch, but Menorca’s real charm lies in its hidden coves. Cala Binidali, for example, is a small, cliff-framed bay that feels like a secluded escape. Elsewhere, the Camí de Cavalls coastal path links beaches and viewpoints, while quiet villages like Binibèquer invite slow mornings with coffee and pastries in shaded squares.

WHERE TO STAY
Experimental Menorca
Experimental Menorca is everything you’d want from an authentic Balearic break – a whitewashed 19th century finca, chirruping cicadas and cool interiors decorated with chic rusticity: straw hats strung across walls, glazed ceramics and terracotta tiles, all wrapped in fragrant juniper shrubs and pine groves. A peaceful, pebble beach is just a short walk away and the capital, Mahon, is a 20-minute drive for shopping, bars, seafood restaurants, ice cream and evening strolls.
On-site, there are a plethora of cultural and immersive activities such as pottery, yoga and painting that take place in secluded spots around the 30-hectare grounds. You’ll also get a very high level of service here, with handcrafted cocktails made by mixologists by the pool to delicious, fresh and wholesome food, like brightly hued salads made with homegrown watermelon, feta, peppers and tomatoes.
