When to Go

Nomad Greenland operates seasonally from June to September, which is a great time to see the Midnight Sun in early summer and the Northern lights from mid-August.

Best For

Due to Nomad Greenland's isolated position among the floating icebergs and serene wilderness, this experience is best suited for guests who enjoy the exhilaration of going off-grid with no fixed itineraries and have a level of fitness that'll get them across the terrain.

How to get There & Around

To arrive at Kiattua Camp, fly to Nuuk Airport. For Saqqaq Camp, fly to Ilulissat. From these airports, you'll be escorted by a member of the Nomad Greenland team to your accommodation.

Discover Greenland's Wilderness

There’s an old saying, “when you’ve seen the world, there’s always Greenland”. But instead of waiting, make Greenland your next destination, and go off-grid with Nomad Greenland. They’ll take you far beyond the edges of the map, going deep into a raw and untamed wilderness, where the familiar laws of nature and scale are rewritten before your eyes.

This camp is best for those who want to experience sumptuous luxury while discovering the Arctic’s cultural activities.

A gentle introduction into the rhythms of Arctic life is what sets Saqqaq apart. Located beside a charming Greenlandic fishing village, the camp offers ten guests the chance to unwind in generously sized, warmly heated tents with private en-suite bathrooms offering steaming hot showers. Each tent boasts heated blankets and interiors thoughtfully crafted for both warmth and charm, ensuring cosiness throughout the coldest Arctic nights. Outside, the vast landscape awaits: glaciers tumble to the sea, whales breach in the bay, and a colourful village glows along the coast. At Saqqaq prepare to become intimately connected to the stories, skills, and daily life of Greenlandic communities, with experiences that reveal the deep ties between people and the land.

It’s easy to fall into the rhythm of camp life, where mornings begin with coffee brewed over an open flame before heading out with expert guides for your daily dose of adventure. You might lace up your boots for a hike to the summit of Uumannag, towering at 1170 metres with panoramic views of fjords and ice. Or meet the island’s iconic sled dogs – noble, powerful and vital to Arctic survival – and learn their centuries-old craft.

Lunch might be a hands-on affair with local fishermen, casting nets into still waters before cooking up fresh catch over a live fire on a secluded shoreline. Take to the sea and sail to witness humpback, mink and fin whales breaching through the icy surface, or kayak between drifting ice floes to forage for wild mussels and cod. You could slow the pace with a wander around Ilulissat Icefjord Centre and learn about a heritage that stretches almost beyond memory.
