Day 1
Arrive in Shanghai
Step off your flight into Shanghai, where a VIP Service Ambassador will greet and guide you through the express immigrations and custom service. At the arrivals hall, you’ll meet your guide who’ll privately escort you to your hotel. Settle in before heading out to explore Shanghai, once a mere backwater fishing village and now a bustling city of contrasts with tree-lined streets and soaring skyscrapers that denote this metropolis as an economic and cultural centre. At the end of the day, return to The Peninsula Shanghai, renowned for being the only building to break ground on The Bund in the past 70 years.

Day 3
Explore temples & bazaars
Begin today at Jade Buddha Temple, which houses two Buddhist statues famous throughout China before making your way to Yuyuan Bazaar. Situated in Shanghai’s old town next to the famed Yu Garden, the bazaar is a souvenir hunter’s paradise. Inside, a winding maze of alleyways boast food stalls with local snacks and a collection of shops selling antiques, lanterns, and keepsakes. Head back outside to Yuyuan Garden, an oasis of manicured gardens punctuated with rocks and trees, green ponds and white walls with circular doorways.
End your day witnessing death-defying routines, unbelievable feats of strength and showmanship as acrobats, stuntmen and contortionists entertain at the award-winning ERA2 show.
Day 5
Explore Huangshan
The morning is all about trying on Hanfu, China’s traditional Han-style clothing worn by ancient kings and queens, princes and princesses.
Once you’ve had your fill of being royalty, don your walking boots and immerse yourself in the mountain’s sea of clouds. Discover unique rock formations, stone peaks and the Grand Canyon’s deep valleys. The circuit today covers up to 15 kilometres and can take up to six hours to complete. Afterwards, return to your hotel for a quiet evening of tantalising flavours and laughter-filled conversations.

Day 7
Wander Jinshanling Great Wall
This morning, you’ll drive to Jinshanling Great Wall where you’ll have time to marvel at how this site rises from the sea in the east before extending 5,000 miles to the deserts of China’s far west. Jinshanling is one of the most picturesque parts of the Great Wall, free from crowds, wild in nature and steeped in centuries of history. A short gondola-ride, followed by a three-hour hike, offers an unbelievable view of countless watchtowers stacked against endless mountain silhouettes.
Afterwards, enjoy an expert-led Tai Chi lesson at the Jinshanling Great Wall, discovering how this traditional Chinese martial art prioritises mindful movement, breathing exercises, and cultural immersion while overlooking mountainous landscapes.

Day 9
Transfer to Xi'an
Today is all about discovering the old capital of Xi’an, where emperors ruled China for thousands of years. You’ll travel here by high speed train, then take your time looking at the treasured Terracotta Warriors, which were discovered in 1974 when a group of farmers made a legendary discovery while digging a well. These farmers struck a chamber containing 8,000 soldiers – a terracotta army – belonging to China’s first emperor. These were built to guard the emperor’s tomb for eternity.
Tonight, check into the Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel Xi’an, which is ideally situated inside the city walls and a mere 10 minutes from the Great Mosque, Drum Tower and Bell Tower.
Day 11
Transfer to Longsheng
From Xi’an, you’ll board a flight to Guilin and from there a private chauffeur will escort you along mountainous roads to Longsheng, home to a colourful mixture of Dong, Huang, Yao, and Miao people. During your time here, you’ll discover a plethora of cultural highlights, including the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, which are a group of large-scale rice terraces built into the hillside and date back more than 650 years. These sprawling terraces are still carved out of the mountainside using simple traditional methods and have become popular motifs in Chinese paintings.
Tonight, you’ll be staying at Li’an Lodge, created by acclaimed photographer Keren Su after he was captivated by the stunning rice terraces. Each cosy room is uniquely styled to reflect a different element of Chinese arts and crafts, creating a welcoming sanctuary after a full day of adventure.

Day 13
Transfer to Yangshuo
Today is another transfer day, but this time you’ll be travelling to Yangshuo, one of the most famous towns in all of China. To get here, you’ll take the karst mountain roads, offering you the chance to take in the area’s laidback atmosphere and off the beaten path pastoral beauty. On the way, stop off at Longji Dazhai Rice Terraces, where a cable car will take you to the viewing point for a bird’s eye view of the terraces.
Check into Banyan Tree Yangshuo Resort and unwind in the spacious rooms inspired by the area’s natural beauty and overlooking the peaceful Li River.

Day 15
Transfer to Hong Kong
Your day begins when your guide meets you in the hotel lobby to start the journey to Hong Kong. After checking out, you’ll drive approximately two hours to the Guilin Train Station, where your guide and private chauffeur will assist with check-in for the high-speed train to Hong Kong, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transfer. Once a cluster of quiet fishing villages, Hong Kong has evolved into one of the world’s fastest-paced cities, blending towering modern skyscrapers with traces of its historic coastal past.
Tonight, you’ll stay at the Upper House Hong Kong, an elegant retreat that offers a serene escape from the city’s energy.
